Having problems with your
mortgage company? CARe
requested the following chart from the following chart by the California
Department of Financial Institutions. It should put you on your
way to finding that illusive department of government who regulates
your mortgage company. http://www.carehelp.org/downloads/CA_DFI_Info.pdf ______________________________________________________________________________________________ About CARe and how we're
funded We have recently been introduced to many people
who have never met us before and who have questions about CARe. We hope
this answers some of those questions. About
CARe CARe is an educational 501c3 non-profit All CARe volunteers and staff have lost their
homes and successfully recovered from fire or earthquake disasters. CARe’s
team is passionate about the work we do. We help because we have “been
there” and know what disaster victims are going
through. CARe’s goal is to provide free comprehensive
information about the rebuilding process, including the insurance
settlement process, to disaster victims so they may effectively
re-establish their homes, lives and
communities. CARe
Funding CARe is funded entirely through foundations,
grants and donations from individual homeowners. CARe, its staff and its
volunteers do not accept or receive money or compensation from builders,
contractors, attorneys, public adjusters, construction estimators or any
similar sources. 2008 Funding The In association with Community Partners: Total

______________________________________________________________________________________________ We have had questions regarding class actions,
including which law firms are the best to deal effectively with Sempra
Energy and SDG&E. Here are two recent (2006) successful San Diego
Sempra-related class action settlements. We have yellow highlighted
pertinent areas of the settlement, focusing on the defendants, the
settlements, the plaintiffs’ lead attorneys and plaintiffs’
rights. Sempra Natural Gas
Class Action In any class action, you are called the plaintiff.
Sempra Energy and SDG&E are called the defendants and sometimes
the tortfeasors. Please note that both cases have sub-classes which
demonstrate class actions do not necessarily require absolutely identical
damages. Please also note that the Court limited the plaintiffs’
attorneys’ fees and costs to 10% in the $1.7 billion Sempra case and no
more than 30% in the $95 million related
case. Hopefully, this information will help you better
understand the class action process and which law firms may be the best
and most experienced to take on Sempra
Energy. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Fire

2008 Natural Catastrophe
Update On July
8, Munich Re and the Insurance Information Institute hosted an online
conference focusing on global natural catastrophe issues through the first
half of 2008. The data indicate that the first half of 2008 is the most
costly in terms of lives as well as economic and insured losses in many
years. Through June 30, natural catastrophes claimed the lives of more
than 150,000 people worldwide with overall losses (insured and uninsured)
estimated at $50 billion.... The presentations include numerous slides
providing data on catastrophes from as early as 1980 through the first
half of 2008, including earthquakes, tornadoes, and other natural
disasters in the United States and around the
world. The three
presentations are featured in the report below.

Blame Homes for Fire's Spread
July 27,
2008 Fuel
reduction performed in advance helped lessen the intensity of last
October's Grass Valley Fire, where most homes that were lost were ignited
by flames from other houses and not by burning brush, according to a
two-part U.S. Forest Service report issued
Tuesday. [more HERE] ______________________________________________________________________________________________ 2007
After the 2003 firestorm I found a video of our
fire and bought it. The block on which our house was located was actually
filmed during the firestorm. He is offering video of the 2007 Firestorm,

Publications" selling books to the Fire Service. As time went on our
product line broadened to include videos and products of interest to
