Anyone who lives in any area is welcome to come to any meeting (unless noted as private). For example, if you live in San Diego but your home burnt in Lake Arrowhead, you are welcome to come to a meeting in San Diego.

Insurance/Recovery Tip:
Workers Comp Insurance
 
Don't forget when you have workers on your property you are responsible to carry workers comp insurance for them. Even if you have hired a contractor, if they do not carry workers comp you are ultimately responsible. We have heard reports that the state is following large orders from home improvement stores back to the delivery site to check to see if the homeowner has workers comp insurance. People have been fined tens of thousands of dollars.
 
Your homeowner's insurance might carry a limited amount of insurance. You should call your insurance agent or company to have them elaborate on the coverage you have before you rely on it. You should also be aware that you don't have to buy this insurance from the state. Look into it BEFORE you get fined. Just Google 'California Workers Comp Insurance"

CREST – Potrero Elementary School students hit hard by the Harris fire in 2007 hung out this week with fifth-graders from Crest Elementary who endured the Cedar fire in 2003.
    Santa Cruz County
        Santa Cruz County United Way establishing a fire recovery fund for victims of last three fires - 06/25/2008
The United Way of Santa Cruz County has created a recovery fund for people affected by the Trabing Fire.
 
The fund will continue to accept donations throughout the fire season for victims of the past three fires and any future fires in Santa Cruz County.
